1. Open Access Model
The Journal of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is a Diamond Open Access journal. All published articles are immediately and permanently available online without any subscription, paywall, or access fees. Readers may freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles.
There are no Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees for authors. The journal is committed to removing financial barriers to both reading and publishing high-quality research in public health and preventive medicine.
2. Licence
All articles published in JPHPM are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
Under this licence, anyone is free to:
-
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, including commercial use.
-
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.
The licence is granted under the following condition:
-
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit to the original authors and the journal, provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
No additional restrictions may be applied that legally or technologically restrict others from doing anything the CC BY 4.0 licence permits.

3. Copyright
Upon acceptance, authors transfer copyright of their article to the Journal of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, published by the Public Health Young Scholars Alliance.
Notwithstanding this transfer, authors retain significant rights to use and share their own work without requiring further permission, including:
-
Reusing their article, in whole or in part, in their own future works, such as books, lectures, and conference presentations.
-
Distributing copies of their published article, including via email or their institutional repository.
-
Posting the final published version (PDF) on their personal website, institutional repository, or any other preferred platform immediately upon publication.
All articles are simultaneously published under the CC BY 4.0 licence, which grants broad reuse rights to authors, readers, and the public.
4. Article Processing Charges (APCs)
The journal currently does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees. All articles are published free of charge for both authors and readers.
For full transparency: in the event that current funding is discontinued and no new funding can be secured, the journal may introduce a nominal APC of USD 50 to sustain operations. Any such change would be announced in advance on the journal website, and no fees would apply retroactively. At present, however, there are no charges of any kind.
5. Metadata, Indexing, and Sharing
The journal deposits article metadata with Crossref and assigns a unique DOI to every published article. Metadata is made openly available for harvesting and indexing by academic databases and services, including DOAJ, Google Scholar, and other scholarly search tools.
Authors and readers are encouraged to share and reuse articles under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 licence.
